because of the high complexity and dynamic of the network, it is not possible to calculate the impact of one change within the system. To get an optimized concept for the complete freight flow and to visualise the impact of the
improvements, it is necessary to use an simulation tool and verify the solutions

main activities:

• implementation of the data (WP5 and 6) into the simulation system
• implementation of the simulation model for the actual situation
• visualisation of the actual situation based on the simulation
• adaptation of the suggestions for improvement into the simulation model (e.g. pipeline routing, changes in the schedule, improved train resources, reductions of loading time, improvements of infrastructure)
• simulation based analysis of the total network potential
